It is expected that AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) would publish a list of Business Schools (b-schools) which would be accepting the scores of Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) only after the registration for the examination ends this January 9th 2012. As per officials of AICTE, they will be declaring that the list of colleges that would be accepting CMAT scores after a couple of days from the registrations for the examination. For most of the candidates who refer to the institutes they could target by giving an examination would not be happy with the decision. Already this year students have gone through the CAT and SNAP examinations and are up to face the music for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH-CET) and Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT).

Most of the students are wondering if AICTE is not ready to list out the colleges they could be eligible by giving the CMAT, then why are they taking the exams at the moment. As it is already known that colleges have separate basis for selection from various exams people students are also eager to know the criteria for CMAT too. Many believe it is important that the colleges should mention clearly the total intake they would be taking of the students who crack the CMAT examinations.

So it is expected that many students who have gone through a tough time giving the CAT and SNAP examinations and were looking at CMAT as one of the options may drop the plan to even appear for it. The primary reason behind it is just the lack of information for the institutes they could look at after giving the examination.

However, some of the students view this as an excellent opportunity and a brilliant idea only if it is executed in the manner it has been planned to. CMAT looks to be a systematic decision by AICTE and would be a great option for the Management students if all the colleges come under its purview. It is now to be seen how the examination excels and how the students respond to this new examination scheduled by the AICTE.
